n the August Focus Tour: sponsored by the Portsmouth Historic House Association, will feature the historic and reproduction wallpapers at Strawbery Banke Museum. Led by Collections Manager Tara Vose, guests will visit several Strawbery Banke houses to see both original and reproduced wallpapers. Vose will discuss the difference between the early handmade papers and the later industrialized ones. Included are the Chase House, built in 1760 and redecorated in the early 19th century, the Rider-Wood house, with early 19th-century reproduction papers created especially for Strawbery Banke from examples found during the restoration process; the Thomas Bailey Aldrich House with its mid-19th-century papers and the 1950’s paper in the Drisco House. The second part of the program will provide time to view and discuss the extensive wallpaper collection at Strawbery Banke, much of which came from the houses at Strawbery Banke Museum. The tour will begin at the Strawbery Banke Visitor’s Center at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5.

n The Catmobile: will be parked at Petco, 1465 Woodbury Ave., in Portsmouth on Aug. 5. The Catmobile is operated by the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society (MRFRS) and is staffed by a licensed veterinarian and two veterinary technicians. The Catmobile offers low-cost spay neuter for cats only. The package consists of spay/neuter, rabies vaccinations, exam, nail trim, treatment for fleas and ear mites. Spay package costs $100 and neuter package costs $75.
